Gideon Hill, M.D.
Chief Medical Director

Gideon Hill, M.D., is chief medical officer of Inter-County Hospitalization Plan, Inc. and Inter-County Health Plan, Inc. (Inter-County). He is responsible for the company’s network contracting services and, in his capacity as vice president and medical director of AmeriHealth Administrators, Dr. Hill is also responsible for the health and disease management programs that Inter-County offers.

Dr. Hill served as a medical director for health insurers and administrators for nine years before joining Inter-County in 2004. He has led the Health and Disease Management Department of AmeriHealth Administrators, which performs health management services for Inter-County, in transforming the Case Management Program to obtain URAC accreditation. He also guided the successful growth of the disease management program and instituted a predictive modeling program to support case management activities and actuarial functions.

Dr. Hill previously worked in clinical practice at Philadelphia Health Associates and HealthSpring Medical Group and, prior to that, served as a major in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps in West Germany. He completed a Family Medicine Residency at Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, N.J., received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
