Prescription Benefits Program
Inter-County offers a preferred prescription benefits program through FutureScripts®. FutureScripts is a national pharmacy benefits management company with a network of more than 60,000 retail pharmacies, including independent pharmacies and major chains. The prescription drug program is tailored to meet your school’s needs and incorporates features designed to achieve significant savings for the plan and for members.
The prescription benefits program includes:
- mail order services for member convenience and added savings;
- thorough monitoring and review of drug utilization to help protect member safety;
- electronic interface between participating pharmacies and prescription administrator for additional prescription safety and billing convenience;
- online resources to help members manage their prescriptions, locate pharmacies, and obtain drug information and pricing;
- educational resources to help members make informed decisions about their prescription benefits.
The prescription benefits program also includes a formulary option to help you spend your benefits dollars efficiently. The formulary-based program includes all generic drugs and a defined list of brand drugs that have been selected for their reported medical effectiveness, positive results, and value.
